About us

We are The Quarter and we are asking you to stand with us.
The Quarter is a safe space for performers who are First Nations, People of Colour (POC) and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD). Recently we were referred to as “that quarter” in a public statement. Such comments have led us to reclaim the name to create a community called The Quarter. The events that followed have shown that not enough action is being taken to insure an inclusive and diverse industry where we can all feel safe, equal and welcome.

The Quarter stands for inclusivity on all fronts, and believes a pledge is necessary to build and restructure the industry standards for our future. We want to see inclusion for everyone including Bla(c)k, Indigenous, People of Colour, people of low socioeconomic backgrounds, gender diverse, disability (cognitive/psychological/physical), body diverse, transgender and gender diverse identifying artists.

If you are committed to change, here’s what we need you to do:

  1. Sign your name and email on the “Pledge” page and be actively held accountable

  2. Download the tiles and post them publicly on your website and social media in solidarity

  3. Pass this pledge on to everyone you know who considers themselves a part of this industry

But don’t stop there, let this be an active commitment that you can take in your stride as a lifelong dedication.
